Bangladesh Foreign Minister On Canada Row: Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has once again scolded Canada. He has said that relations between Canada and Bangladesh have already been bad.
In an interview given to India Today, he said that Canada has become a den of murderers. Abdul Momen said, “All the murderers may not live in Canada, but there is an environment for murderers to flourish. The murderers go there and live a good life and the families of the victims suffer the consequences.”
Relations between Bangladesh and Canada are also not good, because Bangladesh alleges that the accused of murder of Bangladeshi Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujib Rahman is roaming freely in Canada. When asked how he sees the strain in relations between India and Canada, he said, we have good relations with India. We also maintain good relations with Canada.
‘Despite repeated requests, Canada does not listen’
He further says, “His killer (Sheikh Mujib Rahman’s killer Noor Choudhary) is living a good life in Canada. We are repeatedly requesting the Canadian government to hand over him to us if the killer is in their country. Sorry.” Canada is not doing this. Canada is making many excuses for this. We want to know whether the killer is a Canadian citizen or not.”
He further said, “Canada believes in the judicial system, but all the murderers end up there. However, Canada does not even talk to us on this issue now.”
‘Proud of India’
On Saturday (September 23), Bangladeshi Foreign Minister had said that he is proud of India. “This is very sad,” he told news agency NNI last week. “We are proud of India, they don’t do such things (in reference to the Nijjar murder allegations). We have very solid relations with India which are based on values and principles.” “It’s a sad episode and I hope it ends amicably.”
