Belt and Road Forum: Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in China on Tuesday to meet his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping. China is inviting representatives of 130 countries this week for the Belt and Road Initiative project. China is trying to increase its global influence through such celebrations.
Putin’s name is at the top of China’s invitation list. The Russian leader is on his first visit to a major global power since the invasion of Ukraine plunged the Russian regime into international isolation.
The Kremlin released that the Russian President is scheduled to meet Xi Jinping on Wednesday. The Kremlin said that during the meeting the two leaders will talk about international and regional issues. AFP has reported that the leaders of Russia and China will focus on further strengthening their already strong relations.
AFP spoke to Alexander Gabiev, director of the Carnegie Russia Eurasia Center. He said, “Russia knows that China does not want to sign any agreement that would attract the world’s attention.” He says, ‘China has all kinds of bets.’

Russian President Vladimir Putin had said regarding the Israel-Hamas war that Israel is responding on a large scale and in very cruel ways.
Putin said, “From my point of view, this is unacceptable. More than 2 million people live there (Gaza). Not all these people support Hamas, but women, children, everyone is suffering.”
