ISIS Revenge in Brussels: A possible ISIS terrorist, claiming to be avenging the killing of a Muslim boy in America, shot dead two Swedish citizens in Brussels on Monday (October 16) night.
The young man who shot has described himself as a soldier of Allah, whose name is Al Guilani. Before committing the murder, he had posted a video on social media platform X. In the video he said that he is from Islamic State and that he is targeting the people of Sweden because of disrespect towards the Quran, the holy book of Islam.
He said he was inspired by the murder of a 6-year-old Muslim boy in Illinois, USA, who was stabbed to death by his landlord, allegedly because of his religion.
‘If the person who died was a Christian and the murderer was a Muslim, then…’
According to a Belgian media outlet, Al Guilani wrote on Twitter regarding the murder of an American Muslim child, “He (Joe Biden) called it a brutal crime because he was a Muslim. If the person who died was a Christian and the killer was a Muslim, then it would have Would have been termed as terrorism.”
The shooting took place in the city center of Brussels, where Belgium was hosting Sweden in a UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying match. According to Sky Sports, the victims were wearing Swedish football shirts. The match was stopped at half-time due to a “suspected terrorist attack”, UEFA said on Thursday.
Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo has expressed condolences to the Swedish Prime Minister on X. He said that Belgium and Sweden are close partners in the fight against terrorism.
He wrote, “Our thoughts are with the families and friends who have lost their loved ones. As close partners, the fight against terrorism is joint.”
