Canada Hindu Temples Robbed: A case of vandalism in three Hindu temples located in Ontario province of Canada and theft of a large amount of cash from donation boxes has come to light. Durham Region Police are searching for a suspect in this case. Police said in the statement that a 5 feet 9 inches tall man was seen and he was limping.
According to Canadian Police, the man was seen entering a temple in the area of Bailey Street and Crosnow Boulevard in Pickering on October 8. He was seen wearing a blue surgical mask, a black poofy jacket with a tight zipped hood, green ‘camo’ cargo pants and green running shoes.
According to news agency PTI, police found surveillance footage that showed a man entering the temple at 12:45 pm and stealing a large amount of cash from boxes kept for donations. The police statement said he fled the scene before security arrived. But some time later, around 1:30 a.m., he vandalized and entered another temple located in the area of Brock Road and Durson Street in Pickering.
Thief carried out ‘break-and-entry’ incident in another temple also
A resident of the temple said that a person broke the window and tried to steal the safe in which the donated cash was kept. But he could not succeed in carrying out his nefarious act and ran away before the arrival of the police. All this is confirmed in the footage that the man is the same suspect who committed the earlier break-and-entry incident.
The matter does not stop here yet. The same morning, at around 2:50 am, the same man targeted and entered another temple in the area of Westney Road South and Bailey Street West in Ajax. From there he steals a large amount of cash from the donation box.
‘Anyone giving information about the suspect will receive a reward of 2,000 Canadian dollars’
The police have urged the people that if anyone gets any information about the suspect, they should immediately inform the police. The police have also announced a cash reward of 2,000 Canadian dollars for anyone providing information.
