Advisory issued for Indians present in Israel

In view of the unprecedented war-like situation in the south of Israel, the Indian Embassy on Saturday advised all Indian citizens to remain alert and “follow security rules.” The embassy said in its advisory, “In view of the current situation in Israel, all Indian nationals present in Israel are requested to remain alert and follow safety rules as advised by the local authorities. “Please exercise caution, avoid unnecessary movement and stay close to safe places.”

The advisory has been issued in English, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages. According to details given on the embassy website, there are around 18,000 Indian nationals in Israel, who mainly include people employed to look after Israeli elders, diamond traders, IT professionals and students. Air India canceled flight to Tel Aviv

A company spokesperson said that keeping in mind the safety of passengers and crew members, flight number AI 139 from New Delhi to Tel Aviv on Saturday and return flight AI 140 have been cancelled. Flight AI 139 was scheduled to depart at 3.35 pm Indian time on Saturday and the return flight from Tel Aviv was at 10.10 pm Israeli time. There is a difference of about 2.30 hours between Delhi and Tel Aviv. According to the Air India spokesperson, full support is being provided to the passengers as per their needs.
