Zookeeper In Japan Forgot To Lock Cage After Giving Food Lion Made Bite Of His Own Owner

Japan: A shocking case has come to light in Tohoku Safari Park in Fukushima, Japan, where a lion has killed a zoo-keeper. This accident happened when the zookeeper had gone to feed the lion. Meanwhile, the animal attacked the zookeeper named Kenichi Kato.

According to the report of The Independent, Kenichi Kato went to the enclosure to feed the lion but forgot to lock the enclosure while leaving. Meanwhile, the lion attacked him from behind. The local police have taken the body into their custody and said that Kato was lying unconscious in the enclosure after the attack. A lot of blood had flowed from his neck. There were many deep wound marks on his body. After seeing which everyone was shocked. The zoo administration immediately took Kato to the nearest hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Zoo temporarily closed

Talking to reporters regarding this incident, Norichika Kumakubo, a senior official of the park, said that the procedure is that we open the door and keep food for the animals. Once the food is placed, the door has to be closed and locked, but Kato forgot to do so and at that time the door was left open, after which the lion took the opportunity and attacked him. Following the incident, the zoo has been temporarily closed to improve safety management measures.

The man was working in the park for 27 years

Zoo officials have expressed deep regret over the incident and apologized to Kato’s family. He assured that measures will be taken to prevent such accidents in future. Let us tell you that Kato was working in Tohoku Safari Park for 27 years. In such a situation, he had experience in dealing with animals like lion, tiger and bear. However, on the day of the accident he made a mistake.
