Afghan Embassy: After the closure of the Afghan Embassy in India, former Indian Ambassador to the Netherlands Bhaswati Mukherjee said that the decision to close the embassy has not been taken because of India.

He said, “I think the decision to close the embassy has not really been taken because of India, but because of internal problems within the Afghanistan embassy in Delhi. These have been initiated by the new government in Kabul, Which completely opposes the previous government. From my point of view, this is the real reason for the closure of the Afghan embassy.”

What is the matter?

In fact, on Saturday, the Afghan Embassy in Delhi informed through a tweet that it will end its services in India from October 1. The Afghanistan Embassy took this decision citing “lack of resources” and “failure to serve the interests of Afghanistan” on the part of the Taliban government.

The embassy said that there are some consulates which work on the instructions and funds of the Taliban government, they are not legitimate, nor are they working as per the objectives of the elected government.

‘They will also be short of funds’

Bhaswati Mukherjee drew attention towards the lack of funds of the embassy. He said, “I think they will also be short of funds because running an embassy and being an ambassador is very expensive. You have to pay for electricity, water and many other expenses. You have to pay the salaries of your local staff. Is.”

he adds, “After Taliban captured power in Kabul, they sent their own people here. However, the Taliban government has not yet been recognized by any government including India. Meanwhile, the first ambassador left India and is currently living in exile in some other country.”
