Glasgow Khalistan Row: Glasgow Gurudwara General Secretary Prabhjot Kaur has condemned the incident with Indian High Commissioner to Britain Vikram Doraiswami and termed it wrong. He has said that the Gurudwara is open to people of all communities and they openly welcome everyone according to the principles of their faith. After the incident in Glasgow Gurudwara, Scotland Police reached the spot and took cognizance of the matter.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Prabhjot Kaur, General Secretary of Glasgow Gurdwara, said, “On September 29 (Friday), an incident took place at Glasgow Gurdwara, where Indian High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami was stopped by pro-Khalistan extremists for entering a Gurudwara in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. Glasgow Gurudwara strongly condemns such disorderly behaviour. This Gurudwara is open to people of all communities and backgrounds and we welcome everyone openly in accordance with the principles of our faith.”
Gurdwara apologized personally
On this incident, Scotland Police has said that this entire matter is being investigated seriously. In this, strict action will be taken against the culprits. Earlier, Glasgow Guru Granth Sahib Gurdwara has personally apologized to Indian High Commissioner to Britain, Vikram Doraiswami. The gurudwara said in a letter to Vikram that the three individuals involved in the incident were not part of their regular congregation and were unknown to the community gurudwara on Albert Road in Glasgow. Along with this, the Gurudwara Committee has requested Vikram Doraiswami to visit the Gurudwara again.
Know the whole matter
In fact, last Friday, Vikram Doraiswami was invited to Glasgow Gurudwara in Scotland to discuss community and consular issues. When he reached here, three people stopped him from going to the Gurudwara and also threatened him. After which the High Commissioner returned. Controversy arose after this news came out.
