Just a few days ago, on September 18, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had accused India in the Parliament of killing Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in his country. Due to this allegation the relations between the two countries had become quite tense. But India’s side has adopted such a strict attitude on this whole matter that now Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau seems to be softening. Recently, Canadian President Trudeau said that Canada is committed to building ‘closer relations’ with India.

During a press conference in Montreal, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said about India, ‘Indian government’s involvement in the murder of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia in June. "credible allegations" Even after this, Canada is committed to building closer relations with India.

Trudeau further says, ‘I think it is very important that Canada and its allies support India in view of its growing importance on the world stage. "creatively and seriously" Stay connected.

Trudeau said- India is a growing economic power

Addressing the same conference, Trudeau says, ‘India is a growing economic power and an important geopolitical power and as we presented our Indo-Pacific strategy last year, we are very serious about building closer relations with India. Are. And obviously, as a country with the rule of law, we need to emphasize that India needs to work with Canada to ensure that it gets the full facts of this case.

Why did Canada’s stance become soft, 3 reasons

1. Shock received from America

After India was accused of Nijjar’s murder, India started retaliating against Canada. Both India and Canada have also expelled each other’s High Commissioners from their respective countries.

Not only this, PM Trudeau is also continuously making statements against India on different forums. Amidst these tensions, India’s Foreign Minister reached America to participate in the UNGA meeting and there he met US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Canada was hopeful that the US Foreign Minister would raise the issue of Nijjar’s murder in this meeting. But in whatever releases were issued by the US regarding the meeting between India and the US Foreign Minister, there was no mention of Nijjar and Canada.

2. India ready for cooperation, Canada has no proof

It has been more than 10 days since India was accused of Nijjar’s murder. Meanwhile, Canada also claimed several times that they had solid evidence. But this evidence is limited to claims and allegations only. Trudeau’s not presenting even a single solid evidence till now is further strengthening India’s position.

In the discussion at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said on the allegations made by Canada, "We told Canadians that it is not our country’s policy to do so. If Canada has any evidence to make such allegations then present it. Canada has not yet provided any public evidence to support the claim of Nijjar’s murder.

On the same platform, the Foreign Minister also expressed concern over the threats being received by Indian diplomats living in Canada and the incidents of attacks on Indian Consulates. Foreign Minister says, "It is completely wrong that our diplomats have been threatened in Canada, our Consulates have been attacked, this is how democracy works in this country. If someone gives me some factual information, there is no need to limit it to Canada. I will look into that."

3. India gave a befitting reply

In this whole matter, Canada is currently isolated from the world. Even though the Prime Minister of Canada is calling Hardeep Singh Nijjar a citizen of his country on every public platform. But since September 18, i.e. ever since this allegation was leveled against India and Canada sent back its ambassadors, India has also retaliated fiercely.

India, protesting against Canada’s false accusation, sent back a senior ambassador of this country on September 19 itself. Due to which a clear message was sent to Canada and other countries that India will not tolerate such false allegations.

After this, India banned even granting visas to Canadian citizens and released a list of Khalistani terrorists. This list contained the names of those people involved in terrorist activities in India, who have fled to Canada in the last few years. After the release of this list, the whole world came to know that Canada is giving shelter to terrorists. Due to which Canada’s image around the world may be affected.

Let us tell you that not only India, Canada’s neighboring countries have also accused them of giving shelter to terrorists. Before India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have also made serious allegations against Canada of spreading lies and giving shelter to terrorists."text-align: justify;">Canada surrounded by India’s diplomatic moves

In these diplomatic moves, India cornered Canada so badly that finally this country has started softening its stance. Canada was accusing India of killing the Khalistani terrorist, calling him a citizen of its country. Now he himself has retreated from the same issue.

What is the matter of murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar

On June 18, pro-Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead outside a Gurudwara in Canada. Three months after this incident, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a statement that the Indian government may be behind this murder.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claims that Indian agents have murdered a citizen of his country. After this matter gained momentum, Canada asked the Indian diplomat to leave the country. In response, India has also ordered the Canadian diplomat to leave the country.

Now the increasing tension between the two countries has worried India and Canada as well as other world leaders.  Relations between the two countries have reached their lowest level in recent years.
