US Presidential Debate: There is a race within the Republican Party among the candidates to join the presidential race. He said during the debate that he advocates abolishing the rule of ‘American citizenship by birth’ for the children of illegal immigrants.
According to the rules of American citizenship, if a child is born on American soil, he automatically gets American citizenship. Even if his parents are citizens of any country. This rule also applies to illegal immigrants who cross the US border and enter the country. Ramaswamy wants to change this. Therefore, as soon as Vivek Ramaswami of Indian origin said these things during the debate. Similarly, people started criticizing him on social media for his comment.

During the debate, Ramaswami told how the child of a Mexican diplomat may have been born in America. But under the rules of the 14th Amendment, he cannot become an American citizen. Ramaswamy said, ‘The rules say that all people born in America and living under the law and jurisdiction of the country are citizens. But still no one believes that the child of a Mexican diplomat born in this country can acquire birthright citizenship.
