While giving information about his meeting with S. Jaishankar, US Secretary of State Blinken also said on Twitter that he was happy to welcome Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar to the US State Department. We had a very good discussion last week. Certainly many issues including G-20 were discussed. Jaishankar also discussed with US Trade Representative Katherine Tye on various issues including trade and economic cooperation between India and America. They also had in-depth talks on ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

Canada scolded in UN

Before this, on Tuesday, 26 September, S Jaishankar had addressed the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations. He had said that respect for territorial integrity and non-interference in internal affairs is not expected. Pointing towards Canada, he had said that some countries try to make agenda based propaganda which is not expected.

Jaishankar had said that we should not take a convenient stand on political convenience, terrorism, extremism and violence. In his statement, the meaning of stand as per political convenience was related to the statement of Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, in which he has accused the Indian Intelligence Agency without any basis of killing Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar living in Canada.

Both the leaders maintained complete silence on the issues of the meeting

Jaishankar reached America’s capital Washington on Thursday. Here he participated in the think-tank program. During this, he met US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken. However, information about which issue was discussed in the meeting has not been revealed yet. According to the report of news agency PTI, Blinken refused to answer journalists’ questions on the Canada issue before the meeting.

However, US State Department spokesperson Miller says that the two leaders have discussed bilateral issues. “I don’t want to make any predictions about what he (Blinken) will discuss in the meeting (with Jaishankar), but as we have made clear, we have raised it,” Matthew Miller told reporters ahead of the meeting. , We have asked them to cooperate with Canada’s investigation and we will continue to encourage them to do so. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has also not given anything clear on the issues of the meeting.
