China’s ousted foreign minister Alleged Affair: In July, China’s then Foreign Minister Chin Gang was removed from his post. He is believed to have been one of Xi Jinping’s closest people, but was ousted from his post due to his alleged relationship with a TV presenter.
According to the Financial Times, Chin Gang had an extra-marital affair with a high profile TV presenter. The report claimed that she had given birth to a child through surrogacy. Citing six people associated with China’s foreign policy, the newspaper reported that Fu Xiaotian, a former presenter of the Hong Kong-based Chinese broadcaster Phoenix TV’s leading talk show, was in a relationship with Qin Gang.
The Chinese government did not answer questions about the dismissal.
The CNN report quoted two people as saying that they had heard from a common friend that Fu Xiaotian had given birth to a child through surrogacy, although they did not know who the father of the child was.
When Qin Gang was dismissed from his post, the media made every effort to find out the reason for his removal from the Chinese government, but in the end the Chinese government covered up the matter of Qin Gang’s dismissal citing health.
According to CNN, at a press conference on Wednesday, journalists asked about the recent information about Chi Gang, after which China’s Foreign Ministry sidestepped the issue by saying that the question was not asked on any diplomatic issue.
According to the report of Wall Street General, Chinese officials were told about Chin Gang that he was removed from the post due to extra marital affair. It was reported in the report that Chinese authorities were not given information about the woman associated with Chin Gang and her alleged child. Investigations were also conducted into whether China’s national security would be affected due to Chin Gang’s relationship.

In March, Fu Xiaotian posted a photo of her child on social media and wrote the caption, ‘A victorious struggle.’ He had written this post when Chin Gang was appointed to the post of State Councilor in the annual parliamentary meeting of China. Earlier in a post, Fu Xiaotian had also told that the father of her child is not American and she will return to China soon.
