According to a report by CBS Philadelphia, there was widespread looting in Center City, including at Foot Locker and the Apple Store near Fifteenth and Chestnut.

People are running from here to there. The way the crowd was running away from the crime scene, it seemed as if a riot had taken place. Philadelphia police say the robbery is not connected to protests that took place before the dismissal of charges in the death of Eddie Irizarry. On the other hand, people are condemning this incident on social media. One user wrote, “Very sad. This is truly a breakdown of civilization.” Another person wrote, “From the scene we are seeing in America these days, it seems as if it is Taliban.” Another user wrote, “People will be surprised when all the businesses decide to leave due to this kind of anarchy. There is clearly no justification for this kind of behavior.”
