Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant: Amidst the Israel-Hamas war, the Israeli Army is ready for a large number of ground operations on the Gaza border. Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant visited near the Gaza border and met the soldiers deployed there.
Speaking to soldiers at the Yiftach camp in southern Israel, Gallant said Israel will not stand idly by as Hamas continues killing or abducting its civilians, including women and children.
‘The mission will not be completed until Hamas is eliminated’
He said, “This is a battle of light against darkness. We will reach the tunnels of terrorists and the bases of Hamas. We will not consider the mission complete until they (Hamas) are destroyed.” Yoav Galant said, “I have examined and assessed the events that have taken place over the past several days. As I saw on Saturday, October 7, our men and women soldiers worked courageously for the civilians. All of these people fought for Israel’s “And in doing so, they saved the lives of residents of nearby communities and cities.”
He has described Hamas as cruel. “Israel is facing a group that does not accept our existence,” he said. He said, “The soldiers here, along with their friends in the Air Force, Intelligence Directorate and Navy, will destroy the Hamas (terrorist) organization.”
Hamas took Israeli citizens hostage
Hamas fighters took many Israeli civilians hostage in the attack on October 7. Yaav Galant said, “The Israeli government is making efforts to locate the hostages and missing people.” He said, “I received dozens of messages from the families of hostages and victims. The country of Israel has suffered a severe blow.” The Israeli Defense Minister said, “Our thoughts are with all the bereaved family members and those searching for their loved ones.”
