Hamas Israel War: After an attack by Hamas fighters on October 7, fighters killed many Israelis inside their homes. Many such stories of barbarity attracted the world’s attention. The Israeli-American family faced a similar fate and a tragic final message emerged.

According to The Times of Israel report, Johnny Siman Tov sent a message to his sister Rane Butler, saying, “They are here. They are burning us. We are suffocating.” Johnny Siman Tov’s family included his wife Tamar Kedem-Siman Tov, their 6-year-old twin girls and 4-year-old boy. All these people were killed at their home in Kibbutz Nir Oz on the Israeli border adjacent to Gaza. Johnny Tov’s mother, Carol Siman Tov, was also murdered by Hamas fighters on October 7.

‘We are all fine’

When Hamas launched rocket attacks on Israeli cities, Johnny Siman Tov’s house was also hit. Amidst the attacks, Johnny Simon Tov’s family moved to a safe place at home. Johnny’s wife Tamar messaged her close ones, “Hi guys, we are back to the safety of our house and we are all fine.” But after an hour the messages stopped coming. Meanwhile, Hamas fighters entered his house and killed everyone with bullets.

‘Murdered for being a Jew’

Friends of the family have since been mourning his murder through messages on social media. “Our hearts are broken,” Yishai Lacob, a friend of Simon Tovs, wrote on Facebook. “An entire family was killed by murderers, who shot children and parents just because they were Jewish. And this is amidst so many stories. Just a story. It’s unbearable.”
