India Operation Ajay: Amidst the Israel-Hamas war, India has launched Operation Ajay for the safe return of Indians living there to their homeland. Under this operation, 212 people returned safely to their country on Friday (13 October 2023). Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar himself welcomed the people who reached India safely from the war-torn area when they reached the airport.

He said, this is a sad time for the people of Israel. It is the result of the willpower of the Prime Minister. We are committed to bringing back any Indian back home. What is Operation Ajay?

India has launched this operation to facilitate the return of Indians who want to return home, as a series of attacks on Israeli cities by Hamas terrorists over the weekend has created fresh tension in the region.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said at a press conference on Thursday that the chartered flight is expected to reach Tel Aviv this evening and will bring back the first batch of about 230 Indians on Friday morning. “We are monitoring the situation closely,” he said.
