Terrorist Shahid Latif Shot Dead: Pathankot attack mastermind and India’s most wanted terrorist Shahid Latif has been murdered in Pakistan. According to local media reports, unknown assailants shot him dead in Sialkot.
It is noteworthy that in 2016, there was a terrorist attack on the air base located in Pathankot, Punjab. This attack was carried out by terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. Seven army soldiers were martyred in this attack. NIA investigation had revealed that Shahid Latif was the mastermind of this attack.
Pathankot terrorist attack was planned
According to the Times of India report, the NIA investigation also revealed that the Pathankot terror attack was planned and executed in Pakistan. Terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed had trained and sent four suicide bombers to carry out the attack. NIA investigation had found that the masterminds and handlers of the terrorists who infiltrated into Indian territory to carry out the attack were all based in Pakistan.
47-year-old Shahid Latif was a resident of Mor village of Aminabad town of Gujranwala, Pakistan. Shahid Latif is known as the launching commander of Jaish. He had sent four Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists to Pathankot.
Shahid remained in Indian jail for 11 years
Let us tell you that Shahid Latif was arrested in India in 1993 on terrorism charges. He was prosecuted and sent to jail. Shahid Latif was imprisoned in an Indian jail for about 11 years. After completing his sentence in India, he was sent to Pakistan in 2010. NIA investigation has said that after being deported from India, Shahid Latif had gone back to the Jihadi factory in Pakistan and played an important role in the Pathankot terrorist attack.
