Pakistan Violence: The troubles of jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan are not showing any sign of abating. Now Imran Khan’s close aide Usman Dar has made a claim regarding the violence of May 9. In fact, Usman Dar, who was the head of Tiger Force of Imran Khan’s party ‘PTI’, has decided to change sides in the May 9 riots case and become a government witness against his party chief.
He also said that Imran Khan had conspired to commit the May 9 violence and had planned to attack sensitive military installations with the aim of removing Army Chief General Asim Munir. According to The Express Tribune report, Dar, who was one of Khan’s trusted aides, had gone underground after the May 9 incident. After which he came forward again on Wednesday and made serious allegations against Khan in a TV programme.
Dar has claimed that the plan to target sensitive establishments in the May 9 violence was made in a meeting chaired by Khan. Along with this, the former Prime Minister had given instructions to attack military establishments in case of arrest.
The aim was to put pressure on the army
Dar said that the purpose of the May 9 violence was to put pressure on the army and remove General Munir from his post. Not only this, Khan’s aide further claimed that May 9 was just a date, a conspiracy against the army was being hatched for a long time. Dar said that in the meetings at Khan’s residence it was discussed that if necessary, government institutions should be attacked to create pressure.

It is noteworthy that during the violence that broke out after Khan’s arrest, many PTI workers burnt and vandalized dozens of military and state buildings, including the army headquarters in Rawalpindi and the ISI building in Faisalabad. Let us tell you that Khan turned 71 on Thursday. Khan is lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail since 26 September. He was transferred to Adiala from Attock jail in Punjab province.
