Canada Desecrating Temples: A case of desecration of a temple came to light in Canada. Now a person has been arrested for his involvement in this case. On August 12, a temple was desecrated in Canada, hence the police was searching for the suspects involved in this incident, in which now the first arrest has been made.

In August, some Khalistani supporters vandalized a temple in Surrey. Along with this, anti-India and pro-Khalistan things were written on the walls of the temple. At the same time, the temple was desecrated by spraying graffiti.

According to Hindustan Times report, a spokesperson for the Surrey detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said that one person has been arrested in connection with the incidents on August 12 and August 14. However, the police have not revealed the identity of the detained person.

Lakshmi Narayan temple was targeted

On August 12, Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Surrey was desecrated and posters were pasted on its doors. The poster at the front gate had the word “Wanted” below the names and photographs of India’s High Commissioner in Ottawa as well as its Consuls General in Toronto and Vancouver. Another poster on the back doors called for Canada to investigate India’s role in the June 18 killing of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. At the same time, the temple which was targeted on August 14 has not been identified.

Tension between India and Canada at its peak

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had alleged on September 18 that the Indian government could be behind Nijjar’s murder. After his statement, relations between India and Canada have deteriorated. India has already rejected Trudeau’s allegations as absurd. It is known that Nijjar was declared a terrorist by India in 2020 itself.
