Let us tell you that Muizzu has defeated the current President Mohammad Solih.

Earlier, Mohammed Solih, who was the President of Maldives, was seen as pro-India. Since Solih came to power, relations between India and Maldives have strengthened significantly. However, now after Muizzu wins the elections, it is believed that India will get setbacks. How much anti-India Muizzu is, can be gauged from the fact that during the elections, Mohammad Muizzu and his party had given the slogan of ‘India-Out’ campaign to remove Mohammad Solih from power. During his election speeches, Muizzu accused the Solih government several times that India had interfered in the sovereignty and independence of Maldives.

There will be no foreign soldiers: Muizzu

Immediately after winning the elections, Muizzu said that no foreign troops will remain in Maldives against the wishes of the countrymen. He will start efforts to remove foreign troops from the very first day of his charge. He said that people have voted for him because of this pledge, hence he will stick to his pledge.

Muizzu will also work on economy

In his address, Muizzu also expressed concern over the current economy of the country. He said that along with foreign soldiers, the country’s economy is also an issue. Without mentioning any country, he said that half of the country’s debt is owed to a specific country. But he expressed confidence in resolving such issues through prescribed diplomatic channels. Muizzu further claimed that ambassadors of many countries have requested his meeting. But these meetings will be completed as per the rules.
