New Zealand PM Covid Positive: New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins has been found Covid-19 positive. He himself gave this information on social media platform Facebook on Sunday (October 1). He told that yesterday i.e. Saturday (30 September) he was feeling symptoms of cold and flu, after which he got the Covid test done and the result came positive.

In view of the general elections being held in New Zealand in the next two weeks, his campaign may seem intense. After this he has decided to run an online election campaign. Let us tell you that Chris Hipkins took over the post of Prime Minister from the ruling Labor Party in January after the resignation of former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

Following the instructions of Covid rules
New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins shared a photo of his rapid antigen test on his official Facebook page, saying in the post, “After last night, I woke up this morning feeling very unwell. I decided to get a Covid test, After which my result came positive.” Giving information about the election campaign on the post, he said that I will remain in touch with the people of New Zealand during the campaign.

Hipkins said he will try to continue his campaign events online as much as possible. During this time, I will follow the instructions of the Covid rules and will remain isolated from everyone until the result comes negative.

New Zealand lifts COVID-19 restrictions in August
He said that a lot is at stake in this election. When I return I will work twice as hard to ensure that the Labor Party is re-elected. Opinion polls show Labour’s support for former businessman Christopher Luxon’s centre-right National Party is slipping as it looks to form a coalition government with smaller parties.

Hipkins’ COVID-19 test came as his party released its manifesto. In the manifesto, he has announced free dentist care for those under 30, more front-line police and four weeks of paid parental leave. Let us tell you that New Zealand lifted its last COVID-19 restrictions in August, but health officials still advise people to stay at home for 5 days if they are unwell or have been tested positive.
