Pakistan PTI Chief Imran Khan: The lawyer of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday (September 30) alleged that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is being mentally tortured in Adiyal jail. According to ARY News report, PTI’s chief counsel Naeem Haider Panjotha alleged that Imran Khan has been kept in a small room of the C-class jail and he is not allowed to come out of that room even for a walk. Not allowed.

Imran Khan’s lawyer said that he has doubts about the quality of food given to the former PM. It is noteworthy that the petition regarding food is still pending in the court. Panjotha also questioned the in-camera hearing of the Cipher case and urged to proceed with an open hearing of the case. He said that the PTI chairman’s conviction in the case was part of a campaign to keep the former prime minister away from politics, ARY News reported.

FIA requested the court
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rejected the challan presented by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and demanded the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the case. In a statement issued on Saturday, the PTI spokesperson said that the challan presented against party president and vice president Shah Mahmood Qureshi was meaningless and fake as a cipher case.

FIA said in its challan that Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi have been found guilty in this case. The agency requested the court to prosecute him in the case and punish him.

Geo News quoted sources as saying that the name of former PTI General Secretary Asad Umar has not been included in the list of accused. The report said that Imran Khan’s former principal secretary Azam Khan has been named as a strong witness in the case. The names of former Foreign Secretary Asad Majeed, Sohail Mehmood and the then Additional Foreign Secretary Faisal Niaz Tirmizi have also been included in the list of witnesses.

On September 26, the Special Court had extended the judicial custody of Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi till October 10 in the cipher case. Earlier in August, the FIA ​​had booked the PTI chairman and vice-chairman under the Official Secrets Act for misappropriating and misusing classified documents for their vested political interests.

Cipher case investigation
According to Geo News report, Imran Khan and Qureshi were arrested in connection with the investigation of the Cipher case and a special court was formed under the Official Secrets Act to try the accused.

The Cipher Gate controversy first came to light on March 27, 2022, when Imran Khan, days before being voted out of power in April 2022, issued a letter claiming it was from a foreign nation, The News International reported. There was a cipher, which mentioned that his government should be removed from power.
