New York Flood: Emergency was declared in New York, America on Friday (September 29) after sudden floods due to heavy rains. Due to floods, the roads and highways of the city have been submerged in water. The public transport system has completely collapsed.

The National Weather Service reported more than 2 inches (5.08 cm) of rain in some areas by Friday morning. However, it is expected to receive additional 2 inches of rain in the next few hours.

Governor Kathy declared emergency
New York Governor Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency on the social media platform X. She said, “I am declaring a state of emergency in New York City, Long Island and the Hudson Valley due to the rainfall occurring throughout the region. Please take steps to stay safe and remember to never travel through flooded roads.” Don’t try.”

Kathy Hochul also urged New Yorkers to check weather updates and schedules and take precautions.

One airport terminal closed
The New York City subway system was halted due to flooding and a terminal at LaGuardia Airport was also closed. The subway department issued a statement warning city residents of limited train connectivity.

Emergency message was sent to people
According to the New York Times report, National Weather Service meteorologist Dominic Ramunni said that the conditions around the metro are extremely dangerous. It is raining a lot here.

Earlier, an emergency alert announcing the warning of flash flood was sent to the phones of some New Yorkers on Friday afternoon. The alert said, “This is a dangerous situation. Avoid traveling in such a situation.”
