China’s Chang’e-6 lunar Mission: Recently, the success of India’s Chandrayaan-3 was discussed all over the world. Seeing this success of India, neighboring country China seems to be worried. Now it has also announced the launch of its ambitious lunar mission project Chang’e-6. It will be launched in 2024.

According to the Global Times report, China National Space Administration (CNSA) announced this on Friday (September 29) and said that “This will be China’s next robotic mission to the Moon. The purpose of this mission is to bring back samples from that remote part of the Moon, i.e. the South Pole, about which people do not know anything.”

Plan to land in Aitken Basin

According to the CNSA, the far side is generally older and includes Aitken Basin, one of the three major lunar landforms, making it significant. The landing area for the Chang’e-6 mission has been kept at the South Pole-Aitken Basin on the far side of the Moon. Under this mission, to ensure better communication between the spacecraft and Earth, China has developed the Qiqiao-2 relay communication satellite, which is planned to be launched in mid-2024.

Will also carry satellites of other countries

CNSA also said that the Chang’e-6 mission will carry payloads and satellite projects from different countries and regions to promote international cooperation. This includes France’s Dorne radon detection instrument, European Space Agency’s negative ion detector, Italy’s laser retroreflector and Pakistan’s CubeSat.

China is working rapidly on lunar mission

China is also accelerating the development of the International Lunar Research Station (ILRS), thereby jointly expanding the boundaries of human knowledge and contributing to the peaceful use of space and building a community with a shared future for mankind. Expected to attract more international partners.
