How many people lost their lives?

According to Al Jazeera’s report, about 1400 people have died and 3500 people have been injured in the attack in Israel. Whereas in Gaza, 2800 people have lost their lives and about 11 thousand people have been injured. Palestinian officials said that more than 1000 people were buried under the debris due to Israeli attacks.

According to the BBC report, the Israeli Air Force has said that the General Intelligence Chief of Hamas has been killed in the air strike.

Antony Blinken’s visit

Meanwhile, America’s Foreign Minister Antony Blinken has arrived on a visit to Israel. This is his second visit within a week. There is also news that soon US President Joe Biden will also visit Israel.

Blinken discussed efforts with the United Nations and others to provide humanitarian assistance to civilians as he met officials in Tel Aviv. He also said that he will help in the efforts to rescue about 200 people held hostage by Hamas.

Putin contacted many countries

Before Biden’s possible visit to Israel, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone with the heads of state of Israel, Iran, Egypt, Syria and Palestine. The Kremlin said Putin said, “Violence of any kind against civilians is unacceptable.” Moscow called for an immediate ceasefire.

Hezbollah attack
Lebanon’s extremist organization Hezbollah says its fighters have targeted five Israeli posts along the border in the south of the country. Hezbollah is destroying surveillance cameras installed at Israeli posts on the border. Israel has also retaliated against the extremist organization.

Netanyahu’s warning

According to AP, Hamas representative in Lebanon Ahmed Abdul-Hadi stressed on Monday (October 16) that the decision to attack in southern Israel on October 7 was taken by the leadership. According to news agency AP, due to Israel’s blockade and attack on Gaza, people are facing shortage of food and drink. Trucks loaded with goods are standing at the Rafah border and are unable to enter.

“I have been waiting for bread for 10 hours,” one man said while speaking to the AP. He said that he has to feed 20-30 members of the family. It is like excruciating pain.

Water and electricity will run out in 24 hours
The World Health Organization said that there is less than 24 hours of water, electricity and fuel left in Gaza.
