mohammed al jaaif
Mohammad Jeif is the chief commander of Hamas’s Al-Qasim Brigade (army). There is very little information about him. According to Israeli media, Jaffe’s childhood was spent amidst the Israel-Palestine war. At the time of the establishment of Hamas, Jaffe was made the head of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigade. Later Al-Qasim Brigade was founded by Jaaif himself.
Jaffe is believed to have played a big role in preparing Hamas’ rockets and underground tunnels. Hamas bomb engineer Yahya Ayyash was very close to Jaif, Yahya was killed by the Israeli army in 1996. After that, Jaffe organized several suicide attacks in Israel to ‘avenge’ her death.
Israel made several attempts to kill Mohammed Jaif, but he dodged and escaped every time. According to Israeli Army information, Jaffe lost an eye and a body part in an attack. Due to dodging death many times, Jeff is called ‘A Cat with Nine Lives’, which means ‘Cat with nine lives’.
In Gaza area, Jaef is also called Jif, which is called Mehman in Hindi. It is called Jiff because Jiff does not stay anywhere for more than one night.
Mohammad Jaif’s right hand Marwan Isa
Marwan Isa is the deputy commander of the al-Qassim Brigade, known as ‘Shadow’. Marwan Isa is said to be the right hand of Mohammed Jaif. Marwan was arrested during the first intifada against Israel.
According to Israel, as long as Marwan is alive, the war between Israel and Hamas cannot end. Because Israel believes that Marwan is a very clever person, so clever that he can ‘turn plastic into iron’. Before 2011, it was difficult for Israel to even identify Marwan. Israel has demolished Marwan’s house twice, but till now he is out of the Israelis’ control.
Yahya Ibrahim, declared a terrorist by the US
Yahya Ibrahim is the founder of Hamas’s intelligence service ‘Majid’. Yahya was declared a terrorist by America in 2015. In 2017, he was made the political head of Hamas in Gaza.
Ismail Haniye
Ismail Haniye is the chief of the political wing of Hamas. He was born in 1962 in a refugee camp in the Gaza area. His early studies took place at the United Nations Relief and Work Agency in Gaza. During the recent war, this agency has been at the forefront in helping the people made homeless in Gaza. In 1981, Ismail studied Arabic literature in Gaza.
In 1988 Ismail Haniye was arrested by Israeli authorities for his involvement in the first rebellion against Israeli control. This rebellion is known as the first intifada. Ismail spent 6 months in jail and was arrested again in 1989. After this he had to serve jail sentence till 1992. After this Israel sent Ismail along with more than 400 rebels to South Lebanon.
It is noteworthy that the first intifada started in 1987 and continued till 1993. During this period, the uprising against Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem resulted in massive protests and even suicide bombings. Ismail Haniye served as Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority (PA) from 2006 to 2007. In 2006, Hamas won a majority in the Palestinian Legislative Council elections, after which the Hamas government was formed.
Ismail Haniye was involved in internal conflict with the Fatah party over representation in the West Bank and Gaza. After this, from 2007 to 2014, Ismail played the leadership role of the government on behalf of Hamas in Gaza. Fatah Party runs the government in the West Bank area. But due to tension with Fatah party, Hamas announced the formation of an independent government in Gaza.
