Israel Hamas War: Today is the fourth day of Israel-Hamas war. The Israeli Army has, in an unprecedented manner, deployed 3 lakh reserve soldiers around the Gaza Strip area. After Hamas’s attack on Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu had said that he would settle accounts with Hamas for the attack. Along with this, Netanyahu asked the Palestinian citizens living in Gaza to leave the area otherwise they will come under attack.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had earlier said that people of Gaza could leave Gaza through the Egypt crossing. Israel Defense Forces have now closed this route. The IDF has said that the Gaza Egypt crossing is now closed.

‘Rafaah border still open’

However, some media reports say that people of Gaza can go towards Egypt from Rafah border. According to the Times of Israel, “Lieutenant Colonel Richard Hecht told foreign journalists, “The Rafah border is still open, those who want to leave Gaza, I would advise them to leave.”

The report of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRA) states that civilians have been displaced on a large scale in the last 24 hours. UNRA, quoting figures from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), has said that approximately 1 lakh 84 thousand people have been displaced from Gaza in 24 hours. Only in 84 schools of UNRA, 1 lakh 34 thousand people remain refugees.

UNRA said conditions are difficult, with some schools overcrowded, and limited availability of potable water. All 83 schools are not DES (emergency shelters), so there is no longer space to house people in schools
