Ukrainian officials said the attacks hit a grocery store and a cafe in the eastern area of ​​Kharkiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the attack took place in the Kupyansk district of the war-torn region bordering Russia, where Moscow’s forces are trying to retake territory lost to Ukrainian troops last year.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is participating in the summit of 50 European leaders in Spain, said that Russian terrorism must be stopped. “The brutal Russian crime of launching a rocket attack on a grocery store is a completely deliberate terrorist attack,” Zelensky said in a statement on social media. Regarding this attack, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General said that at least 49 people were killed in it.

“A cafe and a shop in the village of Hroza, located in Kharkiv’s Kupyansk district, were targeted. Several civilians were present there when the attack took place,” Kharkiv region governor Oleh Sinehubov said in a post on his Telegram channel. Rescue workers are engaged in relief and rescue operations at the spot.” He further said that a 6 year old boy was also included among the dead. He told that a child is also injured.
