FIA Accused Imran Khan in Cipher Case: Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has named PTI Chairman Imran Khan and PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi as accused in the Special Official Secrets Act court in the Cypher case. The FIA ​​has requested the court to initiate proceedings against both the politicians and impose a fine on them.

The investigating agency has reportedly not included former finance minister and PTI leader Asad Umar among the accused. PTI leader Azam Khan’s statement as an FIA witness under sections 161 and 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been added to the case.

Allegation of misuse of confidential information

In the charge sheet of the case, it has been said that the former Prime Minister had a cipher and it has been alleged that Imran Khan misused the confidential information of the country. The investigating agency has accused him of not returning the copy of the cipher. Apart from this, it was said in the charge sheet that Shah Mahmood Qureshi gave a speech on March 27 and Imran had helped him.

The Cypher case is said to be a matter related to the national security of Pakistan. Under this case, Imran Khan was accused of using confidential information of the country for his personal benefit. However, regarding this matter, Imran Khan has been accusing America that America has done all this to oust him from power.

He said that Pakistan Embassy in Washington had sent him a cable (tape or secret information). Imran Khan had made a controversial diplomatic conversation public. It was called ‘cypher’.
